How the Bingo Book Works
A Bingo mark is checked when a criminal encounter is resolved. To count as a valid participant, your accumulated damage must reach at least 3% of that criminal's maximum HP, rounded up (minimum 1 damage).
Only the top three valid participants by damage receive the encounter's direct XP/ryō participant reward. That top-three rule is separate from Bingo: every participant who reaches the 3% threshold can still be checked for a card mark.
You receive a mark only if that defeated criminal is one of the five targets on your current card. Defeating the same target again does not create an extra mark.
Milestones
Milestones are awarded automatically when your card reaches the required number of unique marks:

| 3 | 180 XP + 600 ryō + 1 ability point |
| 5 | 400 XP + 1,200 ryō + 2 ability points |
You do not need a separate claim command for these three Bingo milestones.
