Using NPCs

NPCs are reusable roleplay identities owned by the server/world rather than by a player. Authorized staff or storytellers can use an active NPC inside a scene when a message should come from a persistent in-world character.

Use the narrator for neutral description, transitions or environmental facts. Use an NPC when the speaker has a name, identity and role that should return later — for example a mission contact, shopkeeper or recurring antagonist.

Automatic narrative events can also select active server NPCs when the NPC event category is enabled. That does not give ordinary participants control over those identities; normal narrator/staff permissions still apply.

tip

Reuse an existing NPC when it represents the same in-world person. Creating duplicates makes scene history and future references harder to follow.
