Confession Channel

The confession configuration chooses where Kakashi's public /confess feature sends server confessions.

A user configuring this feature needs Manage Channels.

Configure a channel

/config confession set #channel

To remove the setup:

/config confession delete

Once configured, the confession command can use that destination according to its own validation/rules.

Plan moderation before advertising it

Anonymous-looking or pseudonymous community features can create moderation load. Before enabling confessions widely, decide:

  • which server rules apply;
  • who can moderate the destination channel;
  • what content is disallowed;
  • how members should report abusive posts;
  • whether the channel should be slowmode/read-only except for Kakashi.
tip

Keep the confession destination separate from important moderation/log channels. A high-volume social feed is easier to manage when it has its own channel policy.

Permissions

Kakashi needs normal access to the destination channel. Channel overwrites can still block sending even when the configuration points to the correct channel.

Common mistakes

  • Configuring a channel that was later deleted/replaced.
  • Assuming the confession setting itself defines moderation policy.
  • Removing Kakashi's send permission after setup.
