Discovering Jutsus

A jutsu must be discovered before it appears as a normal learning option. Discovery does not spend learning materials and does not make the technique usable by itself; it simply reveals it for your progression.

Some techniques are available from the start: neutral E-rank beginner techniques are initially discovered, and each chakra nature you know exposes up to two basic C-rank techniques of that nature. Other discoveries come from RPG activities:

  • Hunt Ninja: on a successful hunt, the discovery chance is 8% (D), 10% (C), 14% (B), 18% (A), or 24% (S). Elite targets add 6 points, capped at 32%.
  • Explore: 10% after a successful exploration, 5% after a non-success that still found something, or 20% when the result includes a nature fragment. Normal zones cap discoveries at B; higher-danger zones can reach A.
  • Bingo Book encounters: when the defeated criminal has a matching technique pool, the chance ranges from 12% at D rank to 30% at S rank.
  • Training bosses: a qualifying boss can reveal one of its techniques at 30%, or 45% for a final-tier boss.

The roll only selects from techniques your shinobi does not already know or have discovered and respects the activity's rank/nature limits. Lower ranks are weighted more heavily than rare high-rank jackpots.

When a discovery appears, open /jutsu info to inspect it, then /jutsu learn when you are ready to spend the required materials.
