Combat Mechanics
This page is for players who want more detail than the basic combat guide. Kakashi uses diminishing curves and caps so that progression remains meaningful without allowing one stat to scale forever.
Balance values can change over time, so use this as a current mechanics reference, not as a promise that every coefficient will remain unchanged forever.
Skills
All five RPG skills currently cap at 50.
| Skill | Main combat effect |
|---|---|
| Taijutsu | Increases physical/base attack contribution. |
| Resistance | Increases effective maximum HP and damage reduction. |
| Chakra Reserve | Increases maximum chakra. |
| Ninjutsu | Increases jutsu damage contribution. |
| Precision | Increases critical chance and pressures dodge calculations. |
Skill scaling uses diminishing returns rather than a flat “+same amount every level” formula.
Critical hits
The base critical chance starts at 5% before Precision/build effects. Precision can raise the skill contribution, while the core combat balance applies a 35% hard cap to the base Precision-derived critical chance. Other contextual modifiers can still shape the final action.
Critical damage uses a base multiplier of 1.5× before other applicable systems.
Elemental matchups
The five basic nature cycle is:
Katon > Fūton
Fūton > Raiton
Raiton > Doton
Doton > Suiton
Suiton > Katon
The current core nature multiplier is 1.15× when strong, 0.90× when weak and 1.00× when neutral.
Defense
Defense is layered. Armor-style defense, Resistance, build reduction and temporary defensive effects can contribute without simply being added as unlimited flat percentages.
The combat balance applies caps to prevent combined reductions from reaching invulnerability. Shields are a separate layer that can absorb damage according to their own rules.
Mastery
Mastery contributes to jutsu development and can improve effective damage/cost behavior through diminishing curves. Mastery is therefore useful even after a technique is already learned and equipped.
Chakra control
Chakra control can improve status potency and chakra efficiency. It is especially relevant to control/support-oriented builds rather than being only a cosmetic profile stat.
Boss and PvP safety
Boss fights and PvP can apply additional soft caps/safety rules so that extreme single-hit output does not trivialize encounters or create unreasonable openings.
Do not build from one coefficient in isolation. The real result is the combination of skills, jutsu, mastery, nature, build, target defenses and temporary effects.
