Roleplay Channels & Scopes

Start with /nv setup. The setup flow asks for a staff role and one or more existing RP channels, then lets you set optional review, profile and log destinations. NarutoVerse cannot be enabled until its preflight check has no blocking problems.

What counts as an RP scope

Admins can allow individual channels or whole categories and can explicitly exclude places inside those areas. For proxy selection, the most specific saved choice wins in this order: thread → channel → category → server. That lets a player use one character generally and a different one inside a particular scene/thread.

Discord permission overwrites still apply in every channel. A role that looks correct at server level can still lose permissions such as Manage Webhooks, Send Messages or thread access in a specific RP area.

A safer setup order

Configure the RP scopes first, add the review/profile/log destinations you actually want, run Preflight from the NarutoVerse settings panel, fix any Discord permission problems, and only then enable NarutoVerse. After ordinary character selection, scenes and proxying work correctly, you can turn on optional narrative automation or RPG Bridge features.

If you change channel permissions or move RP areas later, rerun Preflight before assuming the old configuration is still valid.
